Our students attend the Mid Canterbury Technology Centre for two terms each year, for a whole day session. Students participate in a range of learning experiences with soft materials, hard materials, food and construction and digital technology. Hinds School and parents contribute to student fees to attend technology.
The Year 7 and 8 students participate in the William Pike Challenge Award which is very similar of Duke of Ed programmes at secondary school.
Students participate in three elements, outdoor activities, community service and passion project. Students have an opportunity to step outside their comfort zone and develop and strengthen vital universal life skills. You can follow William Pike on facebook https://www.facebook.com/pikechallenge?fref=ts. or https://williampike.co.nz/.
