Please follow the links on this page to help inform you about our school, our enrolment zone and school uniform. Please contact the office if you would like to come and visit us before enrolling. We have a Whānau Information Book to guide you with the happenings at Hinds School and the opportunities we offer your child.

On enrolling your tamariki please bring the following documents:

Birth Certificate
Immunisation Record
Visa (If not a NZ citizen)

Out of Zone Enrolments for 2025

At Hinds School we focus on bringing learning to life through exploring, empowering and challenging our students. As a school we pride ourselves on knowing our learner and shaping education and learning programmes to best support our students. A special feature of our rural school is the year 1 - 8 structure and growth of our students as active contributing learners. We aim for our students to leave Hinds School as capable and confident learners; as well rounded individuals who have strong Hinds Dispositions and can embrace challenge and opportunity. Hinds School leads the Mid Canterbury Technology Centre, our senior students actively explore a rich, wide curriculum and lead initiatives.

The Hinds Board of Trustees invites applications from parents/caregivers who wish to enrol their child at Hinds School for 2024. Enrolment at the school is governed by an enrolment scheme. No out-of-zone places are available for 2024. An enrolment scheme is available from the Hinds school office.

We would appreciate parents/caregivers living within Hinds School enrolment zone who intend to enrol their child at any time during the next year notifying us of their child's enrolment for 2026 by 20th October, to assist with school planning.

Buses

We have four bus routes. The office will be able to assist you with bus routes and the process of enrolling. Our bus routes are guided by the TEZ and our school zone. If your children are not going to be on the bus in the morning please contact the bus driver. If your children are not on the bus in the afternoon please contact the school office.
